Document Control Analyst

Alloy Product Development is focused on the engineering development of consumer electronics, household goods, professional equipment, and medical devices. We’re a diverse group of about 30 tinkerers, bikers, foodies, dog lovers, dancers, and diaper changers who love to make beautiful objects that work flawlessly. We are looking for great individuals to join our family and help us pursue our vision of delivering “dramatically superior engineering services.” In this role you will make Alloy more effective through thoroughness and consistency in our engineering information documentation, communication, and analysis.

Your responsibilities may include:
o Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for multiple projects
o Review drawings for consistency with CAD and BOMs
o Help internal teams work with our clients’ database management (PLM) systems such as Arena, Agile, Teamcenter
o Ensure that pre-established document control requirements (e.g., document numbering system; how many and which signatures will be required for certain approvals, etc.) are satisfactorily met throughout the duration of the project
o Use Alloy internal processes to track/report budget status and scope changes
o Get quotes, place orders and track part status for engineering builds
o Coordinate with shop staff to make parts in house as needed
o Sourcing research (materials, components, processes, vendors)
o Help develop methods to measure, track, and compare quality and schedules across multiple projects
o Evaluate and implement systems for CAD database management
o Maintain preferred vendor database

Typical Qualifications:
o 3+ years experience in a professional environment
o Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field
o Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal capabilities
o Positive attitude and self-motivation with minimal direction
o Great attention to detail, time and project management skills, and multi-tasking ability
o High level of ethics and dedication to confidentiality and trust
o Willingness and flexibility to take on new challenges or responsibilities with enthusiasm

Bonus skills include:
o Prior experience in a consultancy
o Specific training or expertise in one or more of the areas of responsibility listed above
