Stowaway IR Wireless Folding Keyboard

With the success of their Stowaway XT product, Think Outside was finding it difficult to keep up with the proliferation of different PDA connectors on the market. Their solution was to develop a less-expensive keyboard that could connect to virtually any PDA on the market via the IR interface. Arturo was responsible for the mechanical design from the earliest brainstorming through production ramp. The final product used an IR “wand” to beam keystrokes to the PDA in either landscape or portrait mode. A central clasp held the keyboard tightly closed against the button pressure and served double-duty as the PDA kickstand.
