Nook E-Reader

The first generation nook instantly made B&N a major player in the e-reader market. Alloy assisted in defining the product with component layout studies, leading to the unique dual display configuration. And since “books don’t have buttons” we devised a way to seamlessly integrate the page turning buttons into flexible portions of the polycarbonate bezel. We modeled the subtly curved exterior surfaces for tooling, made several factory visits to refine critical details and engineered the clear, recyclable packaging case.
